Alfalfa (Medicago sativa) has long been valued in agriculture for its naturally occurring plant growth regulators, enzymes, and hormones. These include auxins, gibberellins, and cytokinins, which support root elongation, cell division, and shoot development, along with abscisic acid, which helps regulate the plant's response to stress conditions such as drought.

Fermented Alfalfa/Lucerne Meal is a high-quality, fermented organic fertiliser crafted for professional growers and home gardeners alike. Rich in potassium, calcium, vitamins, trace elements, and amino acids, it is a microbial powerhouse designed to improve plant health, soil biology, and long-term sustainability in organic growing systems.

This fermented extract is appropriate for use at any stage of growth - from seedling through to flowering, it can be used as a soil drench, foliar spray, or as a booster added to compost teas.

How it works:

Fermented Alfalfa/Lucerne Meal works by delivering a concentrated source of natural nitrogen, potassium, and triacontanol (a powerful plant growth stimulant) directly to the plant and soil. The fermentation process unlocks a broad range of enzymes and hormones - including nitrogenase, peroxidase, and nitrate reductase - which support nitrogen fixation, pathogen resistance, and cell wall strength.

Naturally occurring hormones such as ethylene, jasmonic acid, and salicylic acid further support fruit ripening, plant defence mechanisms, and systemic disease resistance.

Application Guide:

Apply Fermented Alfalfa/Lucerne Meal as a diluted soil drench or foliar spray, once per week, for best results. Always dilute with dechlorinated water before use.

Recommended application rates:

• Soil drench: 25–50ml of extract per 1L dechlorinated water, applied once per week
• Foliar spray: 10–25ml of extract per 1L dechlorinated water, applied once per week

Important Information:

• Wear gloves and eye protection, and wash hands after use
• Once opened, keep sealed in a cool, dry place
• Product remains active for 6 months after production if stored correctly
• Contains living microorganisms and mineral additives
• If ingested, or if irritation occurs after contact with eyes or skin, rinse the affected area well and call the National Poisons Centre on 0800 POISON (0800 764 766)
• Some batch variation may occur due to the natural, fermented nature of this product
