Green Culture is NZ owned Calcium Nitrate 'Prilled' is a granular style, water soluble fertiliser that provides two essential plant nutrients in one application - Nitrogen & Calcium. 

Nitrogen drives vigorous vegetative growth, protein production, and overall plant development, while Calcium plays a critical role in strengthening cell walls, improving produce quality, and supporting healthy tissue development. 

Unlike Urea-based nitrogen fertilisers, the nitrogen (nitrate) in this product is immediately available for plant uptake without requiring conversion in the soil, providing a fast and reliable growth response.

Suitable for both soil-grown and hydroponic crops, Calcium Nitrate is commonly used to prevent and correct calcium deficiencies and assist in reducing physiological disorders such as blossom end rot in tomatoes and capsicums, bitter pit in apples, hollow heart in brassicas, and tip burn in lettuce.

Application Guide:

Calcium Nitrate can be applied as a top-dress fertiliser, incorporated into fertiliser programs, or dissolved and used through hydroponic systems such as NFT kits, DWC (deep water culture) systems, run to waste coco coir systems & even peat based hydro soils 

General applications: Apply according to crop requirements (or existing nutrient levels). 

Hydroponics applications: Use EC/PPM (electrical conductivity or parts per million) as a guide for strength.

Top dress applications: Place around the dripline and water in thoroughly after application.

*Stock Solutions - When mixing stock solutions, always prepare calcium nitrate in a separate tank (Tank A) to phosphate & sulfate fertilizers (Tank B) to prevent precipitation.
