Ducth buckets are a versatile hydroponic bucket/container system designed for growing large and vining crops such as tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, and eggplants. Also known as “Bato Buckets,” these 'troughs' are widely used in home gardens and commercial hydroponics world wide. The buckets are great for recirculating systems, drain to waste systems or even aquaponics. Dutch buckets are known for their simplicity and efficiency. Dutch Buckets are particularly effective for growers looking to maximize yield and efficiency in controlled environments such as greenhouses or indoor growing setups. They can be used as part of both small-scale hobby systems and large commercial operations.

How it works:

Each bucket is partially filled with a hydroponic substrate like perlite, expanded clay, or coco coir. Plants are then irrigated from a (top) feed line, once the water/solution makes it way through the root zone and to the bottom of the pot it then drains through a built-in outlet into a drainage pipe. This design allows for either a recirculating system (solution returned to a sump) or a drain-to-waste system (solution drained away).

Dutch buckets are a modular system that can be customized to suit different layouts and growing styles.
