Before orange carrots became common in the 16th century, carrots were traditionally purple. This striking heritage variety produces smooth roots up to 20cm long, with vivid purple skin and coreless orange flesh.

Directions for Use:
For sowing: Sow seeds directly into a sunny, well-drained position. Cover lightly, firm gently, and moisten the soil. Thin seedlings after approximately 4 weeks. Sow successive crops every 4–5 weeks for a continuous harvest.
For growing on: Prepare soil thoroughly before sowing, as deep, loose, well-drained soil produces the best root development. Avoid over-fertilising to prevent split roots. Water regularly to maintain even moisture and protect young plants from snails and slugs.
